Raimel Tapia Homers For Second Straight Game
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia is stuck being the fourth outfielder, there's no doubt about that. With that said, with oft-injured David Dahl as one of the starters, the fourth outfielder in Colorado will likely see more playing time than most fourth outfielders. The question that surrounded Tapia was whether he'd be able to do anything when he did get opportunities to play. On Monday, Tapia stepped up to pinch hit in the eighth inning with Colorado holding on to a thin one-run margin, and he promptly planted one in the right field seats. It's Tapia's second home run in his last two games, and it's an intriguing possibility to think that Tapia may develop a little power. Tapia has never hit more than 12 home runs in any professional season at any level, but if he can adjust his swing to generate more pop, he could actually become a bit of a desirable fantasy item. It's worth keeping an eye on because a regularly-playing fourth outfielder in Colorado can be more valuable than some starting outfielders in other places.
