Andrelton Simmons' Offense Beginning To Come Alive
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs batted in as the Angels lost to the Rangers on Wednesday 5-4. After an extremely slow start out of the gate, Simmons' bat is beginning to heat up. Since April 9, Simmons is 9-for-32 (.281), including five hits in his last 14 at-bats. After driving in a career-high 75 runs last season, Simmons has been inserted into the cleanup spot for most of this season. The Angels offense has really struggled at times, but brighter days could be ahead if Simmons can continue to make strides. Despite the rise in production, Simmons is not among the top tier of shortstops in fantasy right now.
