Joey Bart Diagnosed With Fractured Hand
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants catcher Joey Bart, the top-ranked prospect of the Giants organization, according to MLB Pipeline, has been diagnosed with a broken hand. The fracture occurred Monday night as he was hit by a pitch. Bart will be out between four to six weeks -- a major blow to the organization's prized prospect. The 22-year-old hit .294 last season with 13 home runs and 40 RBI in 51 minor league games. While at the moment it will be a blow, the Giants envision Bart as Buster Posey's successor, and that will not be affected by this injury.
