Pekka Rinne Grabs Win In Game 2
6 years agoNashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne earned his first victory of the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs on Saturday night, stopping 22 of 23 shots against to help give his team a 2-1 overtime victory in Game 2 against the Dallas Stars. It was a strong night in net for the 36-year-old despite not seeing a ton of rubber in the contest. In fact, after allowing the game's first goal just 1:59 into the second period, Rinne shut down the Stars for the remaining 43:01 in regulation and overtime. Favored in the series, the Predators will count on Rinne to put his previous postseason struggles in the past and continue to play like the elite netminder he's been throughout his entire career. With a 1.97 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage through the first two games, the Finnish goaltender is doing just that thus far. He'll be back in net for Game 3 in Dallas on Monday.
