Michael Conforto's Late Heroics Not Enough
6 years agoThe New York Mets found themselves down by 11 runs in the seventh inning Sunday afternoon at Citi Field. From that point on, however, they mounted a furious comeback, scoring eight unanswered runs before ultimately falling short, 12-9. In the ninth inning, outfielder Michael Conforto recorded his second hit of the day when he connected on a three-run home run, cutting the deficit from six runs to three. The blast forced the Nationals to go to their closer, who ultimately finished out the game.
