Isiah Kiner-Falefa Seeing Extended Time At Catcher
6 years agoTexas Rangers utility infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa started Thursday's game behind the plate against the Los Angeles Angels. That was just his third start of the season, having started one game in each of the first two series. However, the Rangers are planning to have Kiner-Falefa start two more games this weekend (Saturday and Sunday). It is interesting to see Kiner-Falefa getting more time behind the plate, as it could pave the way to him becoming the No. 1 catcher for the Rangers. However, until he is seeing regular time behind the plate, Kiner-Falefa holds minimal fantasy relevance, as he does not offer enough power or speed to be worth owning while he is not playing close to every day.
