Roenis Elias Picks Up Save For Seattle
6 years agoSeattle Mariners reliever Roenis Elias notched his first career save Monday night over the Angels as he threw a clean ninth inning. With Hunter Strickland (lat) on the 60-day injured list, the M's will likely approach the ninth inning with a committee, making it a frustrating situation all around for fantasy purposes. Elias, Cory Gearrin and Chasen Bradford will likely be the matchup plays for the ninth inning, but Anthony Swarzak is due off the injured list this week and could emerge as the top option, as he has some previous experience in the position. For now, it's not worth rostering any of these pitchers as their arms don't carry much fantasy appeal unless saves are attached to them. Until we see someone emerge as a clear-cut favorite, owners should sit back and wait.
