6 years agoThe Colorado Rockies have summoned infielder Pat Valaika from Triple-A to fill in for Daniel Murphy while he’s on the Injured List with his finger injury. Valaika is pretty much a nothing bat that can play decent defense as a stopgap, so he unfortunately carries nearly zero fantasy value except the deepest of leagues. Valaika is penciled in to be in a timeshare with Ryan McMahon and Mark Reynolds to cover first base, but fantasy owners will likely cross their fingers that he’s mostly relegated to the bench while McMahon, Reynolds, and Garrett Hampson share the first and second base duties instead.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
