BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 13% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman has been around a long time, and has already gone through his career renaissance, making him an afterthought in most fantasy leagues. And while it's true he's only topped 16 home runs once since 2014, Zimmerman still displays excellent contact skills and plate discipline, as evidenced by his 9.3% walk rate and 17% strikeout rate last season. While his average dipped to .264, his ISO remained a solid .222. However, an injury cost him about half the season, and he finished with just 13 round-trippers.
If Zimmerman can stay healthy this season, and that is a huge if, his hard hit rate and solid contact skills should allow him to hit around .270 and approach 20 home runs. It's nothing spectacular, and it's very unlikely he'll approach the 36 home run, 108 RBI season he had in 2017, but he's still useful in 12+ team leagues for those who need help at first base - which is a surprisingly shallow position in 2019.
