6 years agoThe Boston Red Sox will seek a split of their opening four-game series against the Seattle Mariners and will do so without one of their starting outfielders. Andrew Benintendi will sit the game out, as J.D. Martinez moves from the designated hitter spot to the outfield and Sam Travis will serve as DH. While Benintendi played the complete game on Saturday, he fouled a ball off his right knee and is surely being given a day off to heal. Travis, 25, is a career .261 hitter with eight RBI in 53 games across the past three seasons.--RDelgado
