Mike Leake Goes Six Strong Innings Versus Boston
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Mike Leake shut down the potent Red Sox offense Saturday night, tossing six innings of two-run ball in the victory. He allowed seven hits and two walks while managing to rack up seven punchouts, as he was effective in painting the corners with his pitches. Leake will have strong starts like this during the season, but he's highly unpredictable and will also have his fair share of nightmare outings. The 31-year-old is a lock to take the hill every five games, as he's made at least 30 starts in seven straight seasons, which is very admirable. There's still not enough here to consider him as a mixed league player and is a streaming option in AL-only formats and daily leagues, at best.
