Robinson Cano Delivers On Opening Day
6 years agoThe New York Mets and Washington Nationals delivered as they engaged in a classic pitcher's duel on Opening Day. Second baseman Robinson Cano, making his debut with the Mets, drove in the only two runs of the game in a winning effort. His first hit came in the very first inning of the season, as he drilled a solo home run off Nationals ace Max Scherzer. With sensational pitching, the lone run held for nearly the whole game until Cano once again came up big with an RBI single in the eighth. A New York veteran, the 36-year-old delivered big for his club as runs were hard to come by on the day.
