Ryan O'Hearn Brings Power To KC
6 years agoKansas City Royals first baseman Ryan O'Hearn should hold on to the starting first-base job even though the team re-signed Lucas Duda, but the challenge will be seeing which version of O'Hearn shows up to play. O'Hearn was a shocker when he got called up late last season, posting a phenomenal .950 OPS over 170 plate appearances even though he never posted an OPS above .776 in Triple-A. A big part of that increase was because his fly ball rate was higher than it's been since Single-A. Now, the challenge will be whether that's a lifelong commitment. He only knocked one out during spring training, but those stats don't usually count for much. If O'Hearn can keep his newfound approach at the plate, he could play his way into fantasy hearts.
