Masahiro Tanaka Effective In Last Tuneup
6 years agoWith the 2019 MLB regular season just five days away, New York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka made his last spring training outing before taking the mound for Opening Day. The Japanese veteran pitched just two innings against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing just one hit and striking out three to end his preseason on a high. Tanaka will once again be the club's opening day starter as a result of Luis Severino's injury. In his penultimate Spring start, he struck out seven over five impressive innings. While the Yankees aren't in an ideal situation with their ace facing an injury, Tanaka is more than capable of delivering as the temporary number one starter.
