Chris Iannetta Starting To Warm Up
6 years agoAt 35 years old, Colorado Rockies catcher Chris Iannetta is getting ready to start his 14th season behind the plate. Returning to the place where his career began in 2006, Iannetta knocked 11 homers and hit .224 in a timeshare last season. This year expects to be more of the same, at least at the start of the year. Iannetta has been struggling mightily in spring training, but he smacked a couple of hits over the last two games to help put minds at ease. Iannetta is slated to be the starter again this season, but with on-again, off-again prospect Tom Murphy lurking, he could eventually end up taking a back seat. For now, owners should have a pretty good idea what to expect from Iannetta. 10 years ago, he only hit 16 home runs and batted .228 in Colorado. He’s pretty dependable at this point.
