6 years agoSergio Garcia heads to TPC Sawgrass in good form. Garcia has recorded back-to-back top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour in his last two starts, and his ball striking has been particularly impressive in that period. On both occasions, Garcia gained over seven strokes approaching the green over the field. The Spaniard won the Players back in 2008, although he has struggled here in recent times. Last year Garcia finished T70 at the event.--Gianni

3 years agoSergio Garcia has played in 24 British Opens. He has finished twice -- once in 2007 and again in 2014. Now, at St. Andrews, things have been interesting for the Spanish golfer. In his previous three appearances, Garcia has a fifth, sixth, and 14th. He came close in 2015 but just could not catch up enough on Sunday. Now at 42, "Father Time" has been relentless as Garcia's game has eroded a little. However, he is able to turn the clock back when it comes to European soil. Courses like Royal Liverpool and St. Andrews are where Garcia could still shoot double-digits under par. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

3 years agoSergio Garcia has a long history with Augusta National, highlighted by a victory in the 2017 Masters. However, since his win in 2017, Garcia has yet to make the cut in any of his three starts at The Masters. Before his win, Sergio had never missed more than two cuts in a row at Augusta, in 18 starts. However, this season, Garcia has only missed one cut, and that came in his first start of the season. Since then, Garcia has made six straight cuts, with a best finish of T7 at Mayakoba. Garcia will have a lower than average DFS price, but will struggle to pay it off. Better options can be found than Garcia in the 2022 Masters.--Kasey Kuhrts - RotoBaller

3 years agoSergio Garcia is traditionally a staple when the scene shifts to match play. He has three top-40 results in three tournaments played in North America in 2022. With golfers like Collin Morikawa and even Robert MacIntyre not in the greatest of form, Garcia could author just enough results to get out of the round robin. After that, one never knows. Match play is a different animal after all. Off the tee (4th in strokes gained) and putting (27th) have been what Garcia has excelled at this year so far. If he can avoid errant shots to the green this week, the Spaniard could make a run. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

3 years agoSergio Garcia is one of the best players in the field when it comes to historical data at TPC Sawgrass. The former Players Championship winner has turned in back-to-back top-40 finishes over the past few weeks on the PGA Tour. Despite the decent results, Garcia has relied heavily on his putter in recent weeks. We should not expect that to continue from a historically troubled putter. The Spaniard enters this week having lost strokes on approach in three straight PGA Tour starts. It is tough to think that his irons will turn on a dime this week, but perhaps being back at Sawgrass will be enough to keep Garcia as a viable DFS option.--Matt Miller - RotoBaller
