Mitch Haniger Already In Midseason Form
6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger cracked a two-run home run in Friday's Cactus League spring opener against the Oakland Athletics while batting out of the No. 2 spot for manager Scott Servais. Haniger swatted 26 homers with 93 RBI while hitting a career-best .285 last season. He also struck out 148 times, but showed a rather discerning eye at the plate with 70 walks, too, while tapping the plate for 90 runs scored. It wouldn't be surprising to see him going off the board in mixed fantasy drafts starting in the later part of Round 6 in teams with 12 or more teams, and he is a Round 3 or 4 guy for those in AL-only formats on draft day.
