Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin received a fortunate bounce to open the scoring during Thursday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was his first goal since February 5. The young defenseman has impressed during his first season of NHL action. Dahlin has seven goals, 26 assists, and 12 power-play points through 60 games. He leads all rookie blueliners in assists, points, and power-play points. While there have been growing pains at times, Dahlin has stepped into his role as an NHL regular seamlessly. He projects to be a reliable fantasy defenseman for years to come. The Sabres are back in action on Saturday afternoon against the Washington Capitals. --Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin tallied two helpers during their victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday evening. Dahlin would tally both of his helpers in the final frame. He added the secondary assist on Jiri Kulich's game-tying goal and the primary assist on JJ Peterka's game-winner. The 24-year-old defenseman has continued to log top minutes for the Sabres in all aspects of the game. Over his previous 13 games, he has tallied 15 points (all assists), with six of them coming on the power-play. During this stretch, he has also logged 17 blocks and 17 hits. Dahlin remains a must-start defenseman in all formats, given the ability to contribute offensively and add blocks and hits. He will look to stay hot on Thursday against the Calgary Flames.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Through 25 appearances, the Sabres captain has registered 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) with 74 shots, 36 blocks, and 26 hits. On home ice, Dahlin has scored nearly a point per game, posting three goals and nine assists in 14 contests.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin (back) is on track to return to the lineup at the end of the week. He will miss a third straight game on Monday versus Detroit and won't be available on Wednesday against the Rangers. However, according to Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff, Dahlin is progressing and is a candidate to play at the weekend. Buffalo closes out the week with a back-to-back set against Washington and Toronto. Dahlin was placed on Injured Reserve on Monday to activate forward Jordan Greenway (undisclosed). Bowen Byram and Owen Power will continue to play larger roles in the Sabres defense until Dahlin returns.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin (back) will not be in the lineup on Thursday against Winnipeg. Back spasms limited Dahlin to only 17:16 of action on Tuesday against Colorado, and he isn't game-ready for Thursday, missing his first contest of the campaign. Dennis Gilbert will take Dahlin's spot in the lineup, with Jacob Bryson projected to replace the Swedish rearguard on the first defensive pairing. Meanwhile, Owen Power will work on the first power-play unit instead of Dahlin.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
