Sergei Bobrovsky Shines On Saturday
6 years agoColumbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 38 of 40 shots against in order to pick up his 24th victory of the season in a 5-2 victory against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. It hasn't always been smooth sailing for the 30-year-old this season, but Bobrovsky has now won four of his past five starts for the Jackets. Set to hit the free-agent market this summer, the Russian netminder is looking to earn a large contract and certainly would like to continue improving his current 2.88 goals-against average and .904 save percentage as he did in Saturday's win. With the trade deadline just a little over a week away, Bobrovsky is likely to receive the bulk of his team's starts to potentially increase his value in the trade market. With the league's best team in the Lightning up next on Monday, Bobrovsky will have a significant challenge ahead.
