Kevin Boyle Earns Shutout In First NHL Start
6 years agoAnaheim Ducks goaltender Kevin Boyle made his first career start Wednesday against the Vancouver Canucks and he stopped all 35 shots he faced for the shutout. He became the first Anaheim goalie with a shutout in his first NHL start since John Gibson also blanked the Canucks in his first start back on April 7, 2014. He was nearly beaten by Vancouver rookie Elias Pettersson, but he rang a laser off the crossbar on a power play in the first period to keep the Canucks off the board. The Ducks host the Boston Bruins on Friday night and it wouldn't be surprising to see Boyle get another shot after this solid outing.
