Adam Scott Plans To Leave The Flagstick In
6 years ago After a rocky 2018 calendar year, Adam Scott began to show some form during the latter stretch of the season -- making his last nine cuts and providing a third-place finish at the PGA Championship. This week, Scott will make his 2019 debut at the Sony Open. Ever since an anchoring ban was put into place in 2013, the Aussie has struggled to find any consistency putting. However, Scott will attempt to use the new PGA Tour rule that allows golfers to putt with the flagstick in the hole to his advantage. In an interview this week, Scott had the following to say about the new rule, "As you know, I'm not a person who cares how things look. I was a 30-year-old man putting with a broomstick." Not many players used the strategy during the Tournament of Champions, so it will be interesting to see if it is more widely accepted at the Sony Open.
