Phil Mickelson Won't Play Sentry Event
6 years agoPhil Mickelson is not teeing it up in this week's Sentry Tournament of Champions. "Lefty" qualified for the TOC via his win at the WGC-Mexico event last season, but has elected not to play at Kapalua. The 48-year-old has made it clear that he plans to cut back his 2019 schedule in an attempt to keep himself fresh for the larger events. Mickelson got off to a strong start in 2018 before fading badly down the stretch. He struggled in both the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the Ryder Cup. Look for Mickelson to be more selective of the tournaments he plays going forward.
