Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Laurent Brossoit will miss the start of training camp after undergoing surgery on his right knee. The 31-year-old veteran is expected to be game-ready in five to seven weeks. The Blackhawks kick off their 2024-25 campaign against Utah on Oct. 8. Following a second spell with the Winnipeg Jets, Brossoit joined the Blackhawks on a two-year deal in free agency this summer. He'll be sharing the net with Petr Mrazek. Brossoit had an impressive 15-5-2 record with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage last season. He benefited from playing behind a strong team, and the 2023 Stanley Cup winner is set to face a much tougher time in Chicago.

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Laurent Brossoit could move across Canada this offseason as a free agent. According to James Mirtle of The Athletic, there is "mutual interest" between Brossoit and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto had a turbulent season between the sticks and is expected to part ways with Ilya Samsonov, who is also heading toward free agency. Brossoit, who is coming off a one-year, $1.75 million deal, has performed well as Connor Hellebuyck's backup in Winnipeg. He posted a 15-5-2 record in 2023-24 with three shutouts and allowed 2.00 goals with a .927 save percentage. The 31-year-old carries a 64-46-13 career record.

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Laurent Brossoit will start Friday's game against the Anaheim Ducks. Brossoit has been excellent this season, posting a .924 SV%, 2.11 GAA, and 9.6 GSAA while going 11-4-2 over 17 games. His solid play has lessened the burden placed on Connor Hellebuyck, and Brossoit getting the start on Friday is a good example of that. Anaheim has struggled this year and the Jets are one of the best defensive teams in the NHL, making Brossoit a must-stream on Friday if he is available.
