New York Giants tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) is "optimistic" that he'll be able to play in Week 13 against the Bears after tweaking his hamstring in pregame warmups in Week 12. He was ready to play on Sunday if the situation permitted, but he admitted it wouldn't have been the "smartest idea to be thrown in." Engram is genuinely questionable for this weekend and will be a very risky low-end TE1 option if he's active. Rhett Ellison had his best game of the season against the Eagles on Sunday with Engram not playing, but he wouldn't be a realistic starting option if Engram sits out again.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton said that new tight end Evan Engram fits the Joker role well. "I'm excited," Payton said. "The vision is pretty clear. Obviously we feel like he's someone who can run, gives us a passing threat on third down and in the red zone. He's got good body control and I think he's really good when he gets the ball in his hands. His run-after-catch numbers, statistically-wise, have been good." The 30-year-old former 23rd overall pick by the New York Giants in 2017 out of Mississippi had a career year in Jacksonville with 114 catches, 963 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games. He played in only nine games in 2024, though before needing surgery to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder. However, as a likely high-volume target for quarterback Bo Nix, Engram will have clear bounce-back potential in fantasy and will be a nice low-end TE1 target with upside.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Denver Broncos are signing two-time Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) to an undisclosed two-year deal on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Although Engram ended the 2024 season on Injured Reserve due to a shoulder injury, he gives the Broncos the help at the position that they've been looking for in recent seasons. The 30-year-old former 23rd overall pick by the New York Giants in 2017 out of Mississippi played in just nine games in 2024 and had 47 catches, 365 yards and one touchdown on 64 targets. However, he had a career year in 2023 with a 114-963-4 line on 143 targets in 17 games (15 starts). Depending on how he bounces back from his shoulder injury and how he takes to head coach Sean Payton's offense, Engram could be second-year quarterback Bo Nix's No. 2 target behind receiver Courtland Sutton, giving him plenty of bounce-back potential as a TE1 in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Two-time Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram is visiting with the Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. After being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, Engram is making the rounds and also visited with the Denver Broncos as he looks to sign with a new team in free agency. After the New Orleans Saints re-signed Juwan Johnson Tuesday, Engram is the top tight end available on the market this offseason. The 30-year-old former 23rd overall pick in 2017 by the New York Giants out of Mississippi had a career year in Jacksonville in 2023 with a 114-963-4 line but only played in nine games in 2024 due to a season-ending shoulder injury and finished with a disappointing 47 catches (64 targets) for 365 yards and one TD. Denver's top TE is Adam Trautman, while the Chargers' is Will Dissly. With either team, Engram could be primed for a bounce-back season as a TE1 in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Free-agent tight end Evan Engram is visiting with the Denver Broncos on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 30-year-old was recently released by the Jacksonville Jaguars after two seasons with the organization and is free to sign with a new team before the new league year begins on March 12. Engram had the best season of his career in 2023, catching 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games. The former first-round pick by the New York Giants in 2017 was limited to just nine games in 2024 and caught 47 passes for 365 yards and one score. Head coach Sean Payton has lacked a game-changing tight end since he arrived in Denver, so this could be a perfect match as the team looks to upgrade its pass-catching weapons for rising quarterback Bo Nix.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller
