We have a MONSTER 14-game slate to look at tonight and we are starting to get a few games into the season, so we should be able to start looking at some more stats soon. Personally, I like Corsi For, which is an advanced shot metric shot which can help identify offensive opportunity.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 11/21/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?
DFS Forwards to Consider
David Krejci - C, BOS @ DET (FD - $5,300 , DK - $4,200)
With Patrice Bergeron going out with an injury, we will see Krejci move up to the first forward line along with the first power-play unit. This naturally makes him a bit of a value play since he isn’t fully priced up for the new role has. Krejci only has 11 shots in his last 10 games but has seven assists, which is what we want to be going after. Simply getting exposure to Pastrnak and Bergeron makes him worth the roster spot and should be good for all formats tonight against a weaker Red Wings team.
Jack Eichel - C, BUF vs PHI (FD - $ 7,500, DK - $7,400)
The Sabres are hot right now and playing well for a young team and come in scoring about three goals per game this season. They are led by Jack Eichel, who has multi-point upside nearly every night and you should want him in your GPP lineups tonight. He has five points in his last five games, along with 25 total shots and comes in with a 14.1 Corsi For. Love him on the first power-play with Jeff Skinner, which is where you want to be starting off your stacks. We are dealing with a full slate of games, so ownership shouldn’t be an issue tonight, so this is a player I’d consider being overweight on compared to the field.
DFS Defenders to Consider
John Carlson - D, WAS vs CHI (FD - $6,700 , DK - $6,800)
Carlson and the Capitals are up against the Blackhawks, who are giving up far too many shots this season, along with plenty of goals. This puts the always dangerous Capitals top lines and power-play units in a fantastic spot tonight, which you want a part of in cash games or tournaments. If you don’t have the salary to pay up for Ovechkin and a full stack, Carlson is a great option to get some exposure to that unit, along with saving some money. He comes in with three assists, 14 shots, and 14 blocked shots in his last five games. Great as a one-off in tournaments tonight.
Matt Dumba - D, MIN vs OTT (FD - $5,000 DK - $6,000)
Dumba and the Wild should be one of the more popular teams tonight since they are up against the Senators, who give up an absurd amount of shots, nearly 50 a game, and over three goals per game. Love that Dumba has been setting up his offense lately with eight points in his last 10 games, with five of those points being goals. He should be a cash game lock tonight due to his overall production and insanely favorable matchup vs the Senators.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Alexandar Georgiev - G, NYR vs NYI (FD - $7,700 , DK - $7,600)
This is by no means a cash game option, but Georgiev is in a spot to see plenty of shots tonight, which makes him a GPP option. The Rangers are giving up nearly 45 shots per game, mainly due to their defense being so young and inexperienced. We are also looking at what should be a higher scoring game since this has an over-under set at 6.5. But, if he is able to limit only two goals, along with racking up around 30 saves, and come away with the win, he could be the key to moving up the leaderboard in GPPs tonight.
