Calgary Flames left wing Matthew Tkachuk scored both of the team's goals in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Montreal. He put the team on the board on a power play with Mark Giordano and Elias Lindholm providing the assists before Giordano linked up with T.J. Brodie to help Tkachuk get his second. Tkachuk is having a huge year, producing nine goals and 21 points in 19 games so far with 45 shots and 18 penalty minutes. He hasn't gone more than two games without registering a single point, so he's been a very reliable piece for owners.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Florida Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk (groin) was activated from long-term Injured Reserve on Tuesday, paving the way for him to join the lineup for Game 1 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. After suffering a groin injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off, Tkachuk has missed 25 games. The Panthers will use Tkachuk on the second line next to Sam Bennett and Mackie Samoskevich, while he is also set to skate with the top power-play unit. Tkachuk was tied for the most points on the team with 22 during Florida's triumphant Stanley Cup run last year. He made 52 regular-season appearances this term, scoring 22 goals and 57 points.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

During the regular season, Tkachuk played in only 52 contests, yet he finished as Florida's third-highest scorer with 57 points (22 goals, 35 assists). Florida Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk (groin) will not return to action for the remainder of the 2024-25 regular season, the team announced on Monday. He has missed four games due to a groin injury sustained during the 4 Nations Face-Off. "Matthew's going to be out for an extended period. We hope to have him back for the playoffs," Panthers general manager Bill Zito told reporters on Monday. Tkachuk ends the campaign with 57 points (22 goals, 35 assists) in 52 games. Mackie Samoskevich has joined the top six and the first power-play unit during Tkachuk's absence.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
