Ricky Seals-Jones Does Well In Week 10
6 years agoArizona Cardinals tight end Ricky Seals-Jones had a decent performance against the Chiefs in Week 10. With five catches for 51 yards on nine targets, the tight end put in a solid display and looks like a decent option at a barren position going forward. As one of the top outlets in the Cardinals passing game, Seals-Jones should be considered a solid TE2 going forward.

Colts Sign Jason Huntley, Ricky Seals-Jones
2 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent running back Jason Huntley and tight end Ricky Seals-Jones to undisclosed deals on Wednesday and waived-injured tight end La'Michael Pettway and safety Michael Tutsie in corresponding moves. The Huntley signing probably won't keep the Colts from trying to add Kareem Hunt, who they visited with on Wednesday. Huntley hasn't played in the NFL since 2021 and has just 18 carries for 70 yards an no TDs in six games over two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He'll be competing for a roster spot as RB depth in training camp. Seals-Jones hurt his toe in camp with the New York Giants before being released. The 28-year-old will give Indy tight end depth with Mo Alie-Cox (ankle) and Jelani Woods (shoulder) banged up.

Ricky Seals-Jones Won't Play In 2022
3 years agoThe New York Giants placed tight end Ricky Seals-Jones (toe) on the season-ending Injured Reserve on Wednesday. Rookie linebacker Darrian Beavers (knee) and tight end Andre Miller (forearm) were also placed on IR. Offensive linemen Matt Peart (knee) and Nick Gates (leg) will begin on the Physically Unable to Perform list and will miss at least the first four games. With Seals-Jones now out for the year, it opens a clear path for rookie Daniel Bellinger to be the Giants top pass-catching tight end all year long. If the team's receivers can stay healthy this year, they should have enough options for quarterback Daniel Jones, though, so Bellinger is still mostly an option in dynasty/keeper leagues.

Ricky Seals-Jones A Cut Candidate
3 years agoNew York Giants tight end Ricky Seals-Jones was penciled in as the starting tight end when he was signed, but that was before the Giants drafted Daniel Bellinger, who now seems locked in as the starter in 2022. Undrafted rookie Austin Allen is also making a push and veteran Jordan Akins has past ties to tight ends coach Andy Bischoff. Seals-Jones has often been running with the third-team offense during offseason practices, so he could be a candidate to be cut in training camp unless he shows some improvement. The 27-year-old caught 30 of his 49 targets for 271 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games (six starts) last year for the Washington Commanders, and he should be well off the fantasy radar this fall.

Giants Sign Ricky Seals-Jones Wednesday
3 years agoThe New York Giants signed free-agent tight end Ricky Seals-Jones to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Seals-Jones had 30 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns last year for the Washington Commanders. The Giants lost Evan Engram to free agency and recently cut both Kyle Rudolph and Kaden Smith, so there's a chance that Seals-Jones is New York's top pass-catching tight end in 2022. The 27-year-old is on his fifth team in six NFL seasons, though, and he's never had more than 34 catches, 343 yards or four touchdowns in any of his seasons. In a best-case scenario where RSJ remains as the team's No. 1 tight end entering the season, he'll be a potential weekly streamer in the right matchups as a low-end TE1/high-end TE2.
