BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team PPR
OWNED IN: 1% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: When the Titans picked Tajae Sharpe in the 2016 NFL Draft, there was plenty of preseason hype that suggested he'd be the wide receiver that the Tennessee Titans needed for quarterback Marcus Mariota. After Sharpe caught 41 passes for 522 yards and a pair of touchdowns that season, the hype died down. After the team brought in Eric Decker and Corey Davis and Sharpe ended up missing the 2017 season with a foot injury, the hype died down even more.
But in 2018, the Titans have been employing Sharpe as their number two receiver, and he's had a snap share up near 80 percent over the past two games. Sharpe was the team's most targeted player against the Chargers in Week 7, and with the Titans coming off the bye this week it would be the perfect chance for the Titans to work him into the offense even more, especially with wide receiver Corey Davis posting 83 yards on eight catches with a 47.1 percent catch rate over the past three games. With Marcus Mariota throwing the ball 26 or more times in three of the past four games, the Titans look to be committing to the passing game more than they have in the recent past.
Sharpe is a good speculative add in deeper PPR leagues at this point. He hasn't earned enough trust to be in anyone's starting lineups unless there's some extreme bye week/injury desperation involved, but he's playing well enough and is involved enough to make him worth a bench spot. Remember how much people fell in love with Sharpe two years ago? He's still the same player, and while Corey Davis is that number-one guys, Sharpe is no slouch. He has flex potential if he can sustain his current level of involvement.
