DeMar DeRozan Sets New Franchise Record
6 years agoSan Antonio Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan got very close to a triple-double in Saturday's 110-106 win over the Lakers, scoring a team-high 30 points with 12 rebounds and eight assists. He also had two steals and one block, shooting 14-for-23 from the field. DeRozan took over in the fourth, scoring eight of the team's 23 points to help Gregg Popovich to his 1200th career win as a head coach. DeRozan has now scored 136 points in his first five games with the Spurs, which is a new franchise record. He's adjusted very quickly to his new surroundings, and the trade has greatly lifted his fantasy value, as he's not only a score-first guy anymore. DeRozan is averaging 7.8 assists and six rebounds, and he's flirted with the triple-double twice already this season.
