Clayton Kershaw – SP, LAD ($12,800)
The Red Sox were actually below average against lefties during the regular season, posting a .313 wOBA and 92 wRC+ versus southpaws. With tired bullpens on both sides the Dodgers may give Kershaw a long leash and he does have the better matchup on paper compared to Chris Sale, while being $2,500 cheaper.
Mookie Betts – OF, BOS ($10,300)
Betts is still the top hitter in this series and crushed left-handed pitching during the regular season for a 1.207 OPS and .368 ISO. We’ll want to limit our exposure against Kershaw, but Betts is always a good option on a one-game slate.
Justin Turner – 3B, LAD ($7,800)
Turner had a 1.028 OPS and .244 ISO against lefties during the regular season and hits second for the Dodgers. He is the Dodgers’ best hitter versus left handed pitching and can do some damage in this game.
Brian Dozier – 2B, LAD ($6,900)
Dozier hits leadoff for the Dodgers against lefties, right in front of Justin Turner. He had a rough regular season, but for his career Dozier has an .850 OPS and .229 ISO against lefties. He and Turner make a great pair on the Showdown slate.
Steve Pearce – 1B/OF, LAD ($6,200)
Pearce is a noted lefty-masher, and even at age 35 Pearce had a .959 OPS and .255 ISO against lefties during the regular season. He hits third for Boston versus left-handers, which is a premium lineup spot for this price tag.
Matt Kemp – OF, LAD ($6,000)
Kemp has been great against left-handers, posting an .828 OPS and .235 ISO against lefties during the regular season. He hits sixth for the Dodgers against lefties and should get a few opportunities to do some damage in this game.
