We have a seven-game slate to look at tonight and we are starting to get a few games into the season, so we should be able to start looking at some more stats soon. Personally, I like Corsi For, which is an advanced shot metric shot which can help identify offensive opportunity.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/27/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?
DFS Forwards to Consider
Jack Eichel - C, BUF @ CLS (FD - $7,300, DK - $6,300)
Eichel is up against the Blue Jackets tonight, who as I mentioned the other day when talking about Tarasenko, are not good. Well, Eichel is also in a goal drought of seven games, so hopefully, he can also find some luck and reach the back of the net and pile up some points. He is on the first forward line and the first power-play, so we are getting maximum offensive upside here from a player who is taking about four shots per game.
Kyle Connor - W, WPG @ TOR (FD - $5,200, DK - $5,400)
Connor has a four-game point streak going right now and is still too cheap across the industry. This game has an over-under set at 6.5 goals, which is super high, so we should be looking to get exposure to this game in any way possible. Connor is on the second forward line and the first power-play unit, so plenty of upside in what should be a very fast-paced game.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Mikhail Sergachev - D, TB @ ARI (FD - $4,500, DK - $4,000)
In yesterday's game, Tampa Bay's top defensemen Victor Hedman was injured and while he won't be out long-term, he won't be playing tonight. That means Sergachev, who is currently on the second power-play, should be moved up to the first power-play, as he was last season when Hedman was out last year. This lines up perfectly since the Lightning are up against the Coyotes and Sergachev brings a nice bit of savings.
Duncan Keith - D, CHI @ STL (FD - $5,499, DK - $5,300)
Great matchup for the Blackhawks tonight as they are up against Divison rival the St. Louis Blues, who are in freefall right now. The Blue are giving up four goals per game this season and with Keith up on the top power-play unit, the opportunity will be there for him. He is taking about two shots per game, along with blocking two shots per game, so he has a solid floor of points every game.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Tuukka Rask - G, BOS vs MON (FD - $8,400, DK - $8,200)
The classic original six matchup gets another edition tonight where the Bruins come in as -180 favorites, which should make Rask a solid cash game goalie. He has won in three of his last four starts and has come away with 28 or more saves in three of those four games. Solid upside for him against a Montreal team, who isn't as good as they've shown recently.
