Boston Bruins goaltender Jaroslav Halak picked up his 44th career shutout on Thursday, keeping the Flyers at bay with 26 stops, and he even recorded a power-play assist in a 3-0 win. Halak is only six games into his Bruins career, but the Slovak netminder already has two shutouts to his name. He hasn't yet lost in regulation either, so his start in Beantown has been very impressive. Halak owns a 3-0-2 record with a .945 save percentage and a 1.43 goals-against average, which is the best mark in the league among goalies who have appeared in at least five games. Looks like Tuukka Rask has some serious competition in Boston this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Goaltender Jaroslav Halak (upper body) was called upon to start in the Vancouver Canucks game against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday. He only lasted one period, though, leaving the game early with an upper-body injury. He was perfect before the injury, turning away 14 of 14 first-period shots. Halak has played 17 games this year in his first season for the Canucks. The veteran has a 2.94 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage and will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.--Naftali Clinton - RotoBaller

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Jaroslav Halak will mind the crease against New Jersey Monday. Halak, who has served as a backup to Thatcher Demko, sports a regular-season record of 2-5-2 in 11 games this season. He has zero shutouts with a goals-against-average of 2.93 and a save percentage of .899. The 35-year old has won his last two starts, and he has yet to play against the Devils this season. This netminder is rostered in just 11% of leagues in Yahoo.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Jaroslav Halak just could not get any goal support on Thursday in Los Angeles. He gave up just one goal on 35 shots faced. In the shootout, he allowed two goals on five times as Vancouver fell for the first time in eight games. Halak could not be blamed too much for the loss as he kept Vancouver in this game for long stretches where Los Angeles dominated territory wise. Though Halak fell to 1-4-2, the goaltender gave up two or fewer goals for the first time since October 28th -- his second start of the season. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Jaroslav Halak will spell Thatcher Demko on Thursday night in net. Halak will start against the Los Angeles Kings as Vancouver tries to extend their winning streak to eight games. The concern for the Canucks is that Halak has not played particularly well winning just once in six decisions (1-4-1). Even in that win, the goaltender gave up three goals on 23 shots against the Columbus Blue Jackets on December 14th. Since November 14th, Halak has just three starts. Thatcher Demko leads the NHL in minutes played, shots faced, and saves. The backup needs to prove he can give Demko a break now and then.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
