Auston Matthews Held Pointless For First Time This Season
6 years agoToronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews saw his seven-game point streak come to an end during a 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night. Matt Murray simply got the better of the Maple Leafs and shut their potent offense down. It was the first time all season that Matthews had failed to score two points, let alone one. He has been the best offensive player in the league to start the year and looks on pace to set career highs across the board. Holding Matthews off of the scoresheet is something that will not happen very often.
