Chris Thompson Should Perform Against Saints
6 years agoWashington Redskins running back Chris Thompson was held in check the last time we saw him in Week 3, going for just 17 yards on seven total touches. It was an odd game in which the Redskins took an early lead against the Packers, then clearly set out to keep Aaron Rodgers off the field to prevent a comeback, thus resulting in Adrian Peterson's big day. Expect a considerable shift back to Thompson in Week 5 against the Saints, however. When the Redskins want to control the clock, they turn to Peterson. When they need to score, Thompson is heavily involved as a pass-catcher. The latter figures to be the case on Monday night against a dynamic Saints offense. Look for Thompson's output to come closer to his 13-catch, 92-yard showing in Week 2, as opposed to his rough Week 3.
