Justin Verlander Ready For Postseason
6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander will take the ball in Game 1 of the ALDS Friday against the Indians at Minute Maid Park. Verlander getting the opening start is hardly a surprise after going 4-1 with a 2.21 ERA with a 0.82 WHIP en route to a World Series championship in 2017. It has been another fantastic season for the future Hall of Famer, going 16-9 with a 2.52 ERA, a 0.90 WHIP with 290 strikeouts in 214 innings pitched. Verlander, strangely, has gone only 4-7 pitching at Minute Maid Park this season while allowing 19 home runs in only 117 1/3 innings. But he still has an ERA of 2.84 and a 0.84 WHIP at home so keeping the baseball out of the bleachers will be key against the Indians on Friday. Verlander is a sure-fire start in DFS for Friday's postseason action.
