DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Daily Fantasy College Football Advice for 10/6

Can't believe it's already week six of the college football season, but here we are. The benefit of being nearly halfway through the season is that we have a much clearer picture of which teams are good, and which of those are frauds we were fooled by in the earlier weeks of the 2018 season. The only downside to this week's 10 game slate is that there are more than a handful of potential blowout games.

Speaking of blowouts, that inclination comes directly from the Vegas lines I have been pouring over this week. The three games with the top projected points totals - which happen to be the only three with an over/under above 60 - all happen to have spreads of 20+ points. Yikes. That really limits my pool of "games I adore because of Vegas projections", but there are two that stick out as good targets. The Texas-Oklahoma game has an over/under of 60.5, with the Sooners favored by 7. And the second best game from this lens is the Iowa State at Oklahoma State matchup, with an over/under of 54.5 and the Cowboys favored by 9.5

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/6/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @kpLuch.

DraftKings DFS Quarterbacks

Kyler Murray - QB, vs Texas ($10,200)

There may be a few quarterbacks this week who have safer point floors than Murray - Will Grier and Dwayne Haskins, for instance - but I don't feel that any have the ceiling that Murray has. And this isn't a point chasing play. Yes, Murray went completely off last week thanks to six touchdowns through the air and rushing for another, but this is about matchup and the projected competitiveness of this game. Many of the top (priced) quarterbacks in play this weekend have cupcake matchups, and I'm afraid those offenses will be taking their collective feet off the gas pedal early - this shouldn't be the case in this storied rivalry. The game has one of the most attractive over/unders at 60.5, and a spread of just 7. What makes this more enticing is that the Sooner have the top offense in the S&P+ rankings, and they face a Texas team that ranks 80th on defense by those same standards. Led by Murray, the Sooner should be moving the ball well and chasing points for all four quarters.

Taylor Cornelius - QB, vs Iowa State ($8,400)

Cowboy quarterback Taylor Cornelius has played with serious consistency this year, only failing to reach his price implied point total once through five weeks of play. He has a moderate price tag for the production he's had, and I think this game environment raises his points floor and ceiling this week. As noted above, this is one of the most attractive games whilst viewing the slate from a Vegas perspective, albeit on a pretty ugly slate. As for the actual matchup itself, Iowa State is no slouch defensively, but there is a big enough discrepancy between their pass defense and run defense that I think there's an edge to be had here. The Cowboys do have a stud running back in Justice Hall, but the Cyclones have the talent up front in the box to keep him in check. As their pass defense is far inferior, I think this game script sets up well for Cornelius to fire 30+ passes and find success through the air.

Also Consider: Will Grier - QB, vs Kansas ($10,400)

DraftKings DFS Running Backs

J.K. Dobbins - RB, vs Indiana ($7,500)

Pound for pound (okay, dollar for dollar, rather) Dobbins is my favorite play in week six of college football daily fantasy. I love his floor, and I'm pretty enticed by his ceiling as well against the Hoosiers. In what appeared as a truer time share earlier in the season between Dobbins and Weber, Dobbins seems to have separated a bit and emeraged as the clear #1 (although, as you'll see in my Also Consider - I think Weber is a fine cash play plug thanks the matchup and price) and has received the lion's share of the carries in the past two weeks. This Indiana team actually ranks pretty well defensively, but they haven't seen a beast like the Buckeyes offense yet, and they, too, have a lopsided unit. Their defensive backfield is pretty talented, while their front seven is young and lost a lot of key guys from the year before. I think Dobbins is going to have his number called early and often en route to a big game.

Kennedy McKoy - RB, vs Kansas ($5,000)

A game with an incredibly high point total and a big spread? This has the makings of a blowout game that can flip a game script to "feed the running backs all second half to control the clock". I like McKoy as both a sleeper and a value play in week six. He's failed to meet salary based expectations only once, and as such I think he's a fairly safe cash play. He's been fed the rock at least 11 times in each of the last three weeks, and due to the game script switch I can see happening, I like him as a high ROI guy you can plug into tournament lineups as well.  The fact that Kansas has allowed an average of 177 yards per game on the ground makes him even more enticing.

Also Consider: Mike Weber - RB, vs Indiana ($5,900)

DraftKings DFS Wide Receivers

Marquise Brown - WR, vs Texas ($7,700)

The Texas Longhorn defense is without a doubt improved - but they still have a glaring weakness, and that's allowing big plays. Enter Marquise Brown, one of Kyler Murray's favorite targets and a big-time deep threat receiver. He's found the endzone at least once every week this season (save for the Army game), and he's eclipsed 130 yards receiving in three of five games. The Vegas projections for this game certainly help to elevate his status, and he should find some soft spots in this Longhorns secondary.

Whop Philyor - WR, at Ohio State ($3,700)

Philyo's status - he banged up his angle two weeks ago - is still not completely known, so this is a spot to keep an eye on. If he's able to go, however, I think he becomes an incredible value with a fairly high ceiling relative to his price. He's a dyanmic playmaker that the Hoosiers like to get the ball to in space, and he had a monster 13-catch, 138 yard performance against Michigan State in his last piece of action. The projected game script and score also make this matchup more enticing, as the Hoosiers will likely be forced to throw the ball often to keep pace with the Buckeyes. If Philyor is unable to go, Nick Westbrook is a fine cash option and Donovan Hale (both Hooosier receivers) have their respective floors raised a bit - but reserve Hale for tournament play only.

Also Consider: Jerry Jeudy - WR, at Arkansas ($6,900)
