DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
James Paxton, SEA (vs TEX) - $10,000
Paxton should be in for a full workload tonight after going just four innings in his first start off the disabled list. He's put up a beastly 2018, posting a 2.84 Deserved Run Average and a 3.02 SIERA. He should have a strong start against the Rangers, who are a very weak lineup on the road with a .294 wOBA. They've also got a high 25.1% K-rate away from home, so Paxton's got a ton of strikeout upside with a monster 32.0% K-rate of his own.
Steven Matz, NYM (vs MIA) - $6,700
Matz has pitched pretty well over the last month, striking out 31 batters in 26 1/3 innings with a 3.08 ERA. Matz's main selling point tonight is his matchup - the Marlins have the worst lineup in the league against left-handed pitching according to their abysmal .284 wOBA. Matz can easily roll through Miami's hitters and he's a very cheap option.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
1B - Paul Goldschmidt, ARI (@ SD) - $4,600
Even though he's been mired in a slump lately, Goldschmidt is still one of the best first base options on any night with his elite 145 wRC+. He has the perfect matchup to buy low on as he faces Jacob Nix, owner of an awful 6.81 ERA.
2B - DJ LeMahieu, COL (vs WSH) - $4,100
LeMahieu is one of the only Coors Fields bats you'll be able to grab without putting a significant part of your payroll to him. He doesn't have an easy opponent in Stephen Strasburg, but he can still do some damage in the league's best hitting environment. As Colorado's two-hitter, it shouldn't be hard for DJ to score some runs.
3B - Josh Donaldson, CLE (@ KC) - $4,300
Donaldson is finally looking like himself again, batting .333 with a 1.074 OPS over the last 15 days. His price still hasn't adjusted, so this is your chance to grab Donaldson without killing your budget. We all know the kind of potential Donaldson still possesses.
SS - Jean Segura, SEA (vs TEX) - $4,200
Segura is in a nice spot batting second for the Mariners, where he will see plenty of plate appearances with the opportunity to produce. Rangers starter Adrian Sampson has a 7.69 FIP, making him an ideal target.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Rhys Hoskins, PHI (vs ATL) - $4,300
I love Hoskins in GPP contests for his home run upside - he's got 34 on the year and is in a great power park in Philadelphia. For a guy with a 138 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, you'd expect Hoskins to be more expensive.
Nelson Cruz, SEA (vs TEX) - $4,100
Cruz is another Mariner that I love at this price. An entire stack against Sampson wouldn't be a bad idea, but Cruz as a standalone is also a worthwhile play. He's got 37 homers on the year with a 136 wRC+.
