Felix Hernandez Lasts Only Four Innings
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Felix Hernandez allowed five runs, four earned, in four innings of work as the Mariners lost to the A's 9-3 on Wednesday. Hernandez (8-14) and the Mariners will head to the offseason with a host of questions regarding the future of their former ace. This, by far, was his worst season as a pro and his 5.55 ERA is a career-worst by a full run. Hernandez still battles out there on the mound but his velocity is down, as evidenced by a 1.40 WHIP, 9.19 H/9 and 27 home runs allowed. Long gone are the days of King Felix and will be, at best, a fifth starter next season.
