Carlos Hyde Gains 98 Yards, Scores Twice
Carlos Hyde turned in a big game in his team's 21-17 win over the New York Jets on Thursday night. Hyde carried the ball 23 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns to help lead his team to victory. It was a big breakout for Hyde, who had been struggling to find much room to run over his previous two games. The threat of Baker Mayfield throwing in the second half loosened up running lanes for Hyde, who took advantage. Mayfield is expected to remain the Browns' starting quarterback going forward, which gives Hyde a bump in fantasy going forward. He draws a plus matchup in Week 4 against the Oakland Raiders.

Carlos Hyde Placed On Injured Reserve
Carlos Hyde (concussion) has been placed on injured reserve, which will bring an end to his 2021 season. Hyde finished the year with 72 carries for 253 yards and one touchdown while adding 12 receptions for an additional 65 yards. James Robinson figures to be the workhorse moving forward, as he is clearly their best option in the backfield. Dare Ogunbowale will move up to the No. 2 on the depth chart, so the Jaguars could potentially be adding another running back to the mix for depth purposes. We have seen Laviska Shenault Jr. get some work as a ball-carrier recently, so that could continue now that Hyde is out of the mix. Considering the coaching change and limited options in the backfield, Robinson has RB1 upside and is a must-start option in Week 16 against the New York Jets.

Carlos Hyde Will Miss Sunday’s Contest
Carlos Hyde (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Houston due to a concussion. Hyde has been sparsely utilized as a backup for James Robinson this season, but with the news that Darrell Bevell will be stepping in as the team's head coach in place of Urban Meyer, the Jaguars' offense could be in line for a shakeup. Hyde has logged 72 carries for 253 yards this season, but he has just once notched double-digit carries in an outing. His absence should funnel ample carries toward Robinson (heel, knee), while Dare Ogunbowale also stands to see an elevated role out of the backfield. Hyde's next chance to return to action comes next Sunday vs. the Jets.

James Robinson, Carlos Hyde Both Miss Practice
James Robinson (heel, knee) and Carlos Hyde (concussion) both missed practice on Thursday. Robinson was limited on Wednesday, but the Jaguars plan to rest him on Thursdays for the rest of the season. And now that Urban Meyer has been relieved of his head-coaching duties, the Jaguars could lean on the 23-year-old even more. It's good timing, too, since the Houston Texans (the team's Week 15 opponent) is allowing the most rushing yards per game (147.9). In a game that the Jags actually have a decent chance of winning, Robinson could have one of his best games of the 2021 season. Start him despite his dud in Week 14. If Hyde isn't cleared from his concussion, Dare Ogunbowale should serve as Robinson's primary backup this weekend.

James Robinson Limited, Carlos Hyde Misses Practice
James Robinson (heel, knee) continued to be limited to open the practice week on Wednesday, while Carlos Hyde (concussion) didn't practice at all. Robinson continues to play through heel and knee injuries, and he should be fine to suit up this Sunday against the Houston Texans. The 23-year-old had just six carries for four yards as the Jags could get nothing going on offense in the shutout loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 14, but Robinson should have much more room to run this weekend against a Houston D that allows the most rushing yards per game (147.9) in 2021. Start Robinson as a low-end RB2. Hyde has zero standalone value behind Robinson and is in danger of sitting out this Sunday. If he doesn't clear the concussion protocols, Dare Ogunbowale would serve as Robinson's backup.
