Jake Arrieta's Struggles Continue In No-Decision
6 years agoMake that five consecutive starts for Philadelphia Phillies starter Jake Arrieta without a quality start. The 32-year-old started against the New York Mets Monday night, going just five innings and surrendering four runs on nine hits, walking one and striking out six. While the Phillies offense eventually came around to tie the game, the club dropped the game following another meltdown by the bullpen. As for Arrieta, he hasn't managed to put multiple strong outings together since late July/early August. Along with the Phillies, the veteran is headed towards a disappointing finish to what began as a promising season.
