Jack Doyle Primed to Succeed in Week 2
7 years agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle hauled in seven receptions against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 and should be targeted heavily against the Washington Redskins. Doyle led all tight ends in number of routes run last week and was a clear focal point of the offense with 10 targets from quarterback Andrew Luck. With the number of reliable tight ends dwindling, fantasy owners should confidently set Doyle in their lineups.

T.Y. Hilton, Jack Doyle Contemplating Retirement
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and tight end Jack Doyle, who just completed their 10th and ninth seasons, respectively, are both contemplating retirement this offseason. Doyle is under contract through the 2022 season, but Hilton will be a free agent in March. Hilton, 31, contemplated retirement last September after a neck injury sidelined him for the start of the season. Hilton is 309 yards shy of 10,000 receiving yards in his career, a feat that would make the Colts the first franchise with three receivers to hit that mark entirely in its uniform. The four-time Pro Bowler had only 23 catches for 331 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games in 2021, and he's missed 15 games in the last four years due to injuries. Doyle had 29 catches for 302 yards and three scores in 17 games while sharing playing time with Mo Alie-Cox and rookie Kylen Granson.

Jack Doyle Questionable To Play Sunday
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle (ankle, knee) returned to a full practice on Friday but is questionable to play in Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Doyle missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but he has a chance to suit up this weekend after returning to the practice field. The 31-year-old has been splitting snaps with Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson this year, though, which has made him a low-ceiling TE2 for fantasy managers. Alie-Cox, who played 90% of the snaps when Doyle was injured last week, would be a more attractive TE2 if Doyle were to sit out, but it'll be hard to trust any Indy pass-catcher against the Raiders if quarterback Carson Wentz is unable to clear the league's COVID protocols before Sunday.

Jack Doyle Misses Another Practice Thursday
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle (ankle, knee) missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday. If he isn't able to get back on the practice field on Friday, Doyle will likely be ruled out for the Week 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Doyle played only 3% of the offensive snaps in the Week 16 win over the Arizona Cardinals because of his injury and wasn't targeted before going down. The 31-year-old hasn't been much of a TE2 in fantasy while sharing playing time with Mo Alie-Cox. Doyle has three touchdowns and 291 receiving yards on 28 receptions in 15 games this year. Alie-Cox would become a more attractive touchdown-dependent TE2 if Doyle doesn't play, but rookie Kylen Granson could be involved as well. None of Indy's pass-catchers will be particularly attractive if quarterback Carson Wentz doesn't clear the COVID protocols, though.

Jack Doyle Doesn't Practice Wednesday
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle (ankle, knee) wasn't on the practice field on Wednesday. Doyle was injured in last Saturday's win over the Arizona Cardinals on Christmas Day, which led to more playing time for Mo Alie-Cox, who caught two of his four targets for 42 yards. Alie-Cox and rookie Kylen Granson would see a bump in playing time if Doyle doesn't get cleared to play in Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but the Colts could also be without quarterback Carson Wentz, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. If Wentz is cleared to play on Sunday morning and Doyle is inactive, Alie-Cox and Granson would merely be deep sleepers as TE2 plays in fantasy against Vegas. Doyle has just 28 receptions for 291 yards and three touchdowns on 41 targets in 15 games this year.
