Luis Severino Rocked In Ugly Loss
6 years agoNew York Yankees starter Luis Severino went to the mound Wednesday night with a chance to pick up his 18th win of the season against the Oakland Athletics. His night would end disastrously early, as he was knocked around for six runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings of work. Tossing just 59 pitches, he was pulled for his shortest outing since late July. While Severino has never really recovered his form from before the All-Star break, he was coming off a quality start, making this performance especially disheartening. The Yankees, meanwhile, leave Oakland having lost two of three from the team they will likely face in the A.L. Wild Card game.
