6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani had an MRI on his elbow which revealed new UCL damage. It has been recommended that he have Tommy John surgery. This is a huge blow for the Angels, who just got him back for one start after months away from the mound. The Angels have not confirmed if he will undergo surgery, but assuming he does he will likely miss the entire 2019 season. Ohtani remains in Wednesday's lineup, batting third and serving as the designated hitter. He could remain as a hitter until he has surgery, if/when he chooses to do so.--patton
