Case Keenum Offering Intriguing Upside in Week 1
6 years agoThe once imposing Legion of Boom is now merely a legion. Free safety Earl Thomas is still holding out for a new contract and isn't likely to play in Week 1 "until something changes," per Ian Rapoport, leaving some major question marks around this already Richard Sherman-less Seattle secondary which allowed 224.5 passing yards per game in the two games without Thomas in 2017 versus the 207 they allowed with him in the lineup. After finishing as the QB14 in 2017, Broncos quarterback Case Keenum looks poised for another under-the-radar fantasy performance in 2018, completing 60 percent of his passes for 231 yards over the preseason. Don't let the matchup scare you away. Should you find yourself looking for an undervalued DFS option or are considering streaming in season-long formats, Keenum had eight weeks of at least 17 fantasy points a season ago and expecting a 225-passing yard, two-touchdown regular season Broncos debut isn't too hard to justify given the circumstances.
