Bills Will Lean on Stephen Hauschka Again in 2018
6 years agoConsistency and reliability -- two essential traits to have as an NFL kicker. The Buffalo Bills will need this from Stephen Hauschka yet again if they are to sneak their way into the playoffs like they did last season. Like Justin Tucker in Baltimore, Hauschka will be looked upon more often than not. In Hauschka's first year with the Bills, he went 29 of 33 on field goal attempts, good for an 87.9 percent success rate. If last year was any indication, the points should continue to flow. 2017 went down as a record-setting year for kickers. A whopping 107 field goals of at least 50 yards were converted. Hauschka and Lions kicker Matt Prater both made four field goals of at least 55 yards. This tied the record for most in a single season. Hauschka, like most kickers, won't get the recognition he deserves, but he appears to be one of the few sure things that we can rely on from this year's version of the Bills. Hauschka can be avoided in fantasy drafts.
