BALLER MOVE: Target ~180
CURRENT ADP: ~250
ANALYSIS: At 6’2” and 210 lbs., the Saints have a big receiver in Tre'Quan Smith to potentially pair on the opposite side of the field with Michael Thomas. With the running game of Alvin Kamara and eventually Mark Ingram, this combination of offensive weapons could mean a lot of production in Smith's direction for 2018.
Coming out of Central Florida, Smith was considered to be a future playmaker in New Orleans. And after his great preseason, it's conceivable that he can ascend to the third or even second receiver position ahead of free agent signing Cameron Meredith.
Currently only having an ADP in dynasty leagues, Smith can be picked up late in drafts as a high-upside flier. The second receiver on a Drew Brees led offense should have significant value, and if Smith gets to that role he could easily finish in the conversation for a WR3 or WR4 receiver for fantasy owners.
While any one can take a stud player in the first round, the real skill and the real winning lineup moves are finding the under the radar sleepers - players who will not so much raise the ceiling for your team, but instead raise the floor of your team. Smith is one of these players and could have the 58 reception, 917 yard seven touchdown type season put up by rookie Juju Smith-Shuster in the Steelers offense last season. Given his current ADP, Smith is a low-cost high-upside flier for fantasy owners at the end of drafts.
