6 years agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols had season-ending knee surgery on Monday. Pujols played up until the surgery, so there was no indication this was coming. The veteran hit .245 with 19 home runs and 64 RBI on the year. Jefry Marte will likely fill in at first base in the interim. Jose Fernandez is an option from Triple-A, although the team may also opt for prospect Matt Thaiss as well. This is worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues.--patton
