Zach Eflin, Reeling Phillies Drop Another
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starter Zach Eflin dropped his second decision of the month as the Phillies failed to gain ground in the pivotal NL East race. The 24-year-old, who was taking on the Washington Nationals, surrendered one run in each of the first two innings, en route to allowing five runs in 5 1/3 innings. Only three of those runs were earned, as a defensive error accounted for the other two runs. This was Eflin's second consecutive outing of five runs surrendered, while he's allowed 18 hits across his last two starts. His record now stands at 9-5, while his ERA climbed up to 3.99 on the season.
