ANALYSIS: With Marcus Stroman still battling an injury, Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Thomas Pannone could see two turns in the rotation this week. Thus far, Pannone has four relief appearances and one start in 2018. During those 11 1/3 innings of work, Pannone has allowed only two earned runs. His lone start was his last outing, against the Orioles, and he dominated. Pannone pitched seven innings, struck out three batters, and allowed only one hit (zero earned runs).
For this week, he is expected to get two starts, both on the road, facing the Orioles and Marlins. As noted earlier, Pannone's lone MLB start is against the Orioles and he dominated them earlier this past week. The Marlins are not much better and, while he is not a safe addition in all formats, two good matchups make Pannone a deep league addition.
