Odubel Herrera Home Run Wins Duel
6 years agoRuns were very hard to come by Thursday afternoon at Nationals Park as Aaron Nola and Max Scherzer squared off. Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera, however, managed to strike with a seventh-inning two-run home run for all the scoring this game would feature. It was a much-needed boost for Herrera, who has fallen on hard times at the plate lately. In August, the 26-year-old has hit a disappointing .179 as his average has taken a significant hit. Regardless, his 20 home runs and 64 RBI are both career highs, as he’s well on his way to his best season to date with a pennant race to look forward to in the upcoming month.
